WIP Wednesday: Rook Shawl

Knitting has slowed around here, last week our daily highs were up near 80 and when that’s the case I feel a lot less motivated to knit. This week it’s cooled back off and feels like spring again and I’m thankful for that and I’ve been spending a bit more time with the only thing I have on the needles, the Rook Shawl. I’ve been enjoying how easy the stitch pattern is and I’m on the decreases, so over half way done. I also really like mosaic knitting, such a great way to play with color. I’m using the leftover Ritual Dyes Marona from my Lauder Cardigan and Spincycle Dyed in the Wool in the colorway Leith. This is a really hard project to photograph and get the details, I did my best, but it’s way better in person, with the variation in the Spincycle being so subtle, I can’t get the camera to pick that up.

A triangluar shawl is on a brown wood floor. The pattern on the shawl looks like a checkerboard with cream and teal blues, the shawl is on knitting needles and is unfinished.
