WIP Wednesday: Fiamma Brioche Shawl

Crochet! It’s been a long time since I’ve crocheted anything other than a stuffie and I was starting to miss it, so I went into my faves on Ravelry and decided on this pattern which is really cool. It looks quite a bit like brioche in knitting, but it’s all done with slip stitching in crochet. This shawl is a slow make so I’ve abandoned my normal routine of only one yarn project at a time to give me some variety. Now that I’ve gotten the hang of the stitch, I’m enjoying it. The pattern is the Fiamma Brioche Shawl by Nomad Stitches. I’m using Madeline Tosh Merino Light in colorway Dr Zhivago’s Sky, bought at my local yarn store.

On a wood plank floor lies a crochet triangular piece in shades of light blue. There is a crochet hook with a pink handle above, and the crochet looks like waves or small wedges of waves. It goes from a half wedge at the bottom up to three full wedges across the top.
