Northern California Coast
We traveled last week, wanting to get out the heat we had already decided to go to San Francisco for a few days but added on a night on the northern California coast at the last minute and left a day early. It was so wonderful to get out the car in Crescent City and feel a cool breeze and a chill in the air.
We stayed in Ft. Bragg at a wonderful small inn and ate at a fantastic seafood restaurant. The town itself was utterly delightful and a surprise as we knew nothing about it ahead of time. The next morning we ate at a great breakfast place that was Wizard of Oz themed before heading down to San Francisco, with a stop for lunch in Bodega Bay.
What I love about traveling to cities these days is we park the car and walk or use transit to get around and I'm slowly finding out which cities make that easy and which don't. SF is towards the top in that regard with an easy to use app for figuring out transit, which we needed in order to get to the Legion of Honor museum. What a fantastic museum and it was practically empty on a Wednesday afternoon. We stayed near Little Italy, which meant eating a lot of fantastic Italian food. Overall a really great few days. Bonus: the weather was cool and perfect. This final photo was as we were heading out of town, once last touristy look at the bridge.
