FO Friday: Sweetheart Jersey

I haven’t made anything in crochet in quite some time, so I decided it was time to change that and have finished one project and have another on the go. This sweater, designed by Nomad Stitches, absolutely flew. Crochet can be so fast, especially something like this, open mesh and tall stitches, it took me just over a week from start to finish. I finished it last month and it was in time for some travel and I used this as the extra layer to put on in the evenings as the day cooled down. It’s so great and comfortable and the pattern was super easy to read and understand with lots of photos to help.

I used Juniper Moon Farm Zooey in the colorway Red Velvet which is a 60/40 Cotton/Linen blend. I really like Zooey and would use it again. My only modification is that I knit all the ribbing. You can definitely crochet ribbing but I really dislike both the stitch and the end product so since I knit I now substitue that in for any ribbing on crochet projects.

A woman stands in front of a doorway with her hand left hand in her pocket of her blue shorts. She wears a read sweater that is a mesh construction for the main body and a denser crochet stitch for the sleeves. She's got blond hair that is cut in a bob and is wearing white framed plastic glasses. She's smiling at the camera.
