FO: Maggie Cardigan
I technically completely finished this sweater in April, even sewing on the buttons! That being said I didn't like it. The 1x1 rib for the button band, collar, and hem looked absolutely terrible. This began my questioning of the use of 1x1 rib at smaller gauges with non wool yarn and so I let it sit while I contemplated what I was going to do. In an unusual move for me I opted to rip it all out and redo it as icords. I'm very bad about going back and fixing my makes to get them to a state where I'll wear them but I'm trying to change my ways. This project was my first big step toward that. I did icords on the edging for the entire sweater, leaving the 1x1 rib only for the sleeve cuffs. I opted for no buttons since this is a lightweight sweater, I don't care if I can't close it. It worked. This sweater has gone to the movies with me, to a baseball game, and a few other places to be that layer that I can throw on in case it cools off. As usual, it rarely cools off, but I like having it along. As usual, since I love to knit the same patterns more than once, I'm starting to think about yarn for a winter weight version. The Maggie Cardigan is by Petite Knit and I knit it in Knitting for Olive Pure Silk in colorway Powder. Pictured here wearing my TNT shorts pattern that I now have 3 pairs of, the Pietra Shorts.
