FO Friday: Penny Gloves

I finished these fingerless mitts up the end of last month, and while I do like wearing these types of gloves, the motivation behind this project was to try out using a fluffy yarn. Many knitters like to hold a mohair or an alpaca silk lace weight yarn with a traditional merino yarn and I’d never done that before this project. This project was to see if I like it as a test before doing an entire sweater and I’ll be honest, I’m not sure. I made the Penny Gloves by PetiteKnit because I had enough leftover from my Dala Sweater that I could pair with a fluffy yarn and see what I think of the combination. I used Fyberspates Cumulus and I love how soft it is. The gloves themselves are great. If I make them again I’d shorten them a touch, but otherwise they’re great. As for the decision about this yarn combination, we’ll see.

Two hands lay on top of each other, with the photo taken from above. On the hands are fingerless gloves that are a maple color and they extend a ways down the forearm of the wearer. The hands are on top of a tweed gray and white fabric.
