FO Friday: DRK Everyday Sweater
I’m behind on my finished objects but that’s because I’ve started knitting smaller accessories as the temperature has risen here and finished things more quickly. Also, getting photos taken always takes me a while and I finally just did it. But, to the sweater, it’s a DRK Everyday Sweater by Andrea Mowry. I’ve made this once before and love my version, but the fit needed a few modifications for my body. I’m finding that this designer expects people with my bust size to have narrower shoulders, so for this sweater I didn’t start with the collar but started below that and with fewer stitches. I knit one extra set of short rows and knit the yoke longer than recommended in the pattern. I went back and did the collar last, so that the weight of the sweater and the sleeves were done and the collar would sit as expected. I knit the collar with one smaller needle size than recommended and 1/2” longer. The fit is so much better! The yarn is Sandes Garn Duo, I used up leftovers from my Weekender Crew for the stripes. My only niggle is how the increases look in the solid yarn, but I know I’ll still wear it a ton because it’s so comfortable. A sweater that feels like a sweatershirt is my style.
