I am a true geek

So this past weekend I zoomed up to Seattle on Sunday for a conference on Monday and Tuesday and then made it back to Portland in time for work today. I realized that I am a true geek while at the conference. I heard all the people that I love, and admittedly somewhat worship, in my field speak about what it is that I and the other 299 people in the room do. It was fantastic. Spring has sprung!

The weather is fantastic here today. Yesterday started our warm-up and today it is about 70 degrees or so with full sun. We are forecasted to have this weather for another few days before it is back to rain and highs in the fifties. We are loving it and Sally has been sleeping on the deck and front porch - wherever the sun is currently. We’ve had our windows and doors open to air out the house and we’ve enjoyed not needing coats. It even propelled me to do a bit of spring cleaning and clean out some of the household items we never use so I have a whole bag for Goodwill - it always feels so good to purge. We are back!

So it’s been a long time since I’ve posted on here. February was crazy busy and then we left for 3 weeks. So we are back from Australia and we had a wonderful trip. Whew! Where did January go?

I cannot believe that January is almost over. Even more I cannot believe that in one month I’ll be in Melbourne with the Lordings and Greg. It is all just a bit crazy since we have been talking about and planning so much for this trip. Read the rest of this entry »
