Yes, it’s been a long time since I changed much about this blog, but I’ve had some time off of work this week and so I decided to change my blog a bit. I upgraded the version, which doesn’t really matter to most of you, but it does to me because things on the backend are much spiffier now. It is a great console for managing and I have some options that I didn’t have before, like showing photos from Flickr. So maybe I’ll open an account for that and start adding pictures. But of course that would mean I would need to take more photos, so maybe I’ll do that too.
Well, as I sit here we are listening to Washington Week and the analysis of the week. Yes, we are total geeks and political weirdos, that we spend Friday night eating a really good steak and watching PBS. It has been quite the week, though. We went to an election party on Tuesday night and partied pretty hard.
So something weird happened to my blog at some point early this week and a kind friend let me know today. Basically I got some weird links added to the footer that were making my browser (and probably others) crash. So I had to delete what was on the server and then upload my files again. In the process I forgot to back-up all the photos (I have them all on my computer, but really don’t want to find them and reformat them and upload them again), so they have been lost in this process. So if you read any of the old posts, no more photos. But from now on I know what to do to keep things current and I will regularly update my photos. Plus I have a new super-sleuthey password.
That’s right, this morning I was just washing my hands in the bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror when I first saw them. I moved in for a closer look. I didn’t want to believe what I was seeing. But clearly they were there, really there.
So winter arrived this past week in Portland. We had our first days with rain all day and cool temperatures, a taste of what is to come. Also we had frost warnings over this weekend as the lows were in the low 40’s and possibly the high 30’s. It is crazy. Although this weekend has been sunny and gorgeous, perfect fall weather.
So Sally and I have lived together for 7 years and I have never bathed her. This is no to say that she hasn’t had a bath in 7 years, but since she hates water, I always thought it best to outsource the whole thing. In Minneapolis, we lived only a few minutes from a PetSmart and I could drop her off and $20 and an hour later, she was clean and I didn’t have to deal with it.
